Third time s the charm

February 11, 2010 Comments off

I hereby declare myself to be hard core. Or  at least drunk-core. Let me say now, very clearly, THIS IS NOT A GOOD IDEA!

I’ve always had a fascination with hand piercings. My first piercing ever, the thing that got me into bod mod at all, was a handweb piercing when I was 16. Needless to say, it didn’t last very long. Since then, knuckle piercings have looked very attractive to me. Every time I came across one on BME, I saved the picture. A few months ago, I was at my piercer, getting my tongue repierced, and I asked if he would pierce my knuckles. He said it was impossible, it would do damage and no one had a knuckle piercing. So I let it go for the time being. Read more…

Hip Microdermals D

February 11, 2010 Comments off

I was fourteen years old when I decided that I wanted my hips pierced. I researched around on the internet quite a bit before proposing the idea to my mum. She agreed with it, and we found out that microdermals are much safer than surface bars and have a lower rejection rate. Next, we looked into piercing shops fairly close to where I live, and found that Dragon FX in Kingsway does them. I also heard some positive things about Dragon FX from my friends, so that’s always good. Read more…

A bitter sweet story

February 11, 2010 Comments off

For a while I’ve had a thing for unusual piercings; at the moment my more unusual ones are just my vertical industrial, my vertical bridge and my mandible microdermal. Anyway, this is the story of my vertical bridge 🙂 You could say it’s a bitter-sweet story really; my vertical bridge was the result of a retired lowbret and an unreliable father.

Anyway, I spent 8 years not having contact with my father; we used to spend time together when I was younger, but when I was about 8 he just disappeared out of my life. He went on holiday and I only head from him three times from then until I was 16. Fast forward to when we started contact again; we’d met up a few times and had planned to go to London for a day. Anyway, we were going to meet at the train station, so I went there and waited for an hour in the rain (luckily mum waited in the car as she had doubts about whether or not he would show); the hour passed, the train arrived and left, I was soaking wet and was seriously pissed off. I tried phoning and texting him but his phone was turned off; so, covered in water and seriously let down I got back into the car. Read more…

Sternum Microdermals

February 11, 2010 Comments off

From the first time I saw microdermals I knew I wanted to get some, but as they were such a new procedure I decided to wait unit the procedure became more common, so two years down the line I finally decided to take the plunge and get some.  I knew for my first I wanted two microdermals set out like a sternum surface piercing, I decided I would go to Chioko in Camden as I had heard such good things about the studio and my local piercers were not performing microdermals.

My Microdermal

February 11, 2010 Comments off

First of all, the microdermal idea was introduced to me by Mike after I had gone in and complained about my surface bar on my sternum that was done at another studio. It was done terribly. I had another piercer take it out as she told me it was already migrating. I had three scars, two from the bar and one from the clamp. I was pretty upset that I no longer had the pretty jewellery where I wanted it. This is where the idea of the microdermal comes in. I had looked on at a lot of microdermals before, not really knowing what they were. I loved the look at them but was worried about the procedure.

wrist piercing

February 11, 2010 Comments off

It was a Friday afternoon and I walked into the dragons den along with my friend with -out an appointment, with all the customers I wasn’t sure I would be able to have it that day. I asked Bonnie behind the counter if they done wrist piercings and sure enough they did, and I could get it done that day. While I waited I signed the consent form and took a seat at the sofas; Bonnie and Caz joked about and questioned why I wanted my wrist pierced, I had seen one of my friends with it done but his was a lot smaller and had rejected I had wanted one for a while and thought about it for over a month before getting it done; it was unusual and I wanted something that would stick out of the crowd. But still look nice for you to show it off to every one. They are all so friendly and always include you in the conversation as though you had worked with them for years. After being rejected by three other piercing places I was getting my wrist done. Read more…

My experience of a surface bar below my eye anti eyebrow piercing

February 11, 2010 Comments off

I had been interested in getting my lip pierced for years and finally done it. I liked how it looked and decided I wanted something else and not often seen in London. So I decided to have a surface bar put in just below my right eye (anti-eyebrow).
I had a look over the internet at lots of pictures, good and bad to help me make my decision, and make sure I definitely wanted it. I saw some really disgusting rejection photos and some really cool successful results. I thought it looked really cool.

Best birthday present

February 11, 2010 Comments off

Right, it all started a few months ago.  It was nearly my birthday and it’s a tradition for me to treat myself to a new piercing on this day every year.  Granted I get a few throughout the year, but I like to get one especially on my birthday.  So I started deciding what I wanted to get done.  I already had a few piercings, ten at this point I think.  But it’s hard for me to get new ones because my parents are totally against the idea of modifications.  In their words they’re a stupid idea and I’ll regret them when I’m older.  I even have a bet with my mum, she says by the time I’m 25 I will have taken them all out, and I totally disagree.  But back to the point, because of my parents unwillingness to let me get pierced, until I’m 18 I’m not allowed to get anything prominently visible pierced.  This means no eyebrows, lips, tongue…basically no facial piercings of any kind.  Read more…

Sternum Experience from one military brat to another

February 11, 2010 Comments off

My parents always try to figure out who was “responsible” for my piercing obsession. My father blames my mom for getting my ears pierced when I was three years old, and for getting my nostril when I was sixteen. My mom blames my dad for piercing my helix (at home) when I was 14. It’s a never-ending battle, really.

But with my sternum, there was nobody to blame but myself. I’d wanted one ever since I saw a picture back in February 2006. I thought they were so beautiful, but I knew my parents would never agree to it, so I settled for “acceptable” ones (in their opinion), like helixes and my inverse navel.

My First cleavage and nipple piercings

February 11, 2010 Comments off

I’ve always considered the idea of getting a cleavage piercing, I thought they were very pretty and unique. The only problem was I’d gotten my Madison pierced last year and when it grew out it left a nasty scar and I didn’t want the same to happen to this one as it was in between my breasts. So I pushed it too the back of my mind and instead got other piercings. Then me and my best friend decided to get piercings, so we went to jack diamonds piercings shop in London and I was all set to get cheek piercings, but just out of curiosity I asked the piercer about cleavage piercings he told me I could get dermal anchors instead of a surface bar, it seemed like the perfect solution! He showed me pictures of previous ones he had done and I fell in love! I decided it I wanted them.
